Without you we cannot help the disabled and terminally ill children we support.
Without your help there would be:
- No Nurses
- No equipment grants
- No medical research
- No awareness and campaigning
You can make the difference and we will make a pledge to you.
Newlife is one of the few charities who actively encourage supporters to make what is known as a restricted gift.
Most people don’t know that by law they, as the donor, have the right to say to a charity how their gift is spent. This means that if a donor/supporter makes a restricted gift 100% of it must, by law, be used for the purpose the giver intends. Not a penny can be taken out for administration or re-invested to fundraise etc. All of the gift does all of the good work you want it to do.
For this reason we offer our supporters the opportunity to make restricted gifts to our restricted funds. You choose where you want your help to count and we guarantee it will happen. We will then tell you how it’s been spent and the impact of the gift.
As a supporter we know you care about disabled children and their families, but how would you like us to use your gift? Choose a fund to give to and we will do the rest. As one donor wrote to us:

We get no Government funding so every penny counts. But, we are a charity that doesn’t sit back and depend solely on others – the needs of the children we serve are too urgent for that.
We run a successful recycling business working with major companies to manage their excess waste product. Newlife recycling and superstore are based in the Midlands which means we can help retailers and manufacturers reduce their waste, protect the environment and as a result create income that we can then use to fund our running costs and many of our services. This gives us a very business like and real world attitude; everything we do, we try to do with professionalism and efficiency. Having this backup funding means we work very hard to offer our supporters this restricted gift opportunity so all you have to do is decide how we can best use your gift to help a child. Of course we also accept unrestricted donations and so if you wish that the gift is you give is unrestricted, we will be sure to use your gift in an appropriate way minimizing running costs and ensuring that we make the most of your gift in pursuing all the aims of the charity.
Choose a Restricted Fund to Support
Nurse Service Fund
Funds the cost of responding to and keeping in contact with families and children through highly trained professionals. We will use your donation for paying the phone bill, towards a salary or printing our specialist publications. This service needs support to keep it going. It costs around £25 to provide initial help to a family.
Equipment Grand Fund
Funds specific equipment to help disabled children all over the UK. Funding all kinds of vital equipment which range in price from as little as £50 to £17,000
Revolution Appeal Fund (for equipment)
Funds specific equipment which aims to bring about a revolution in the experiences and lives of thousands of disabled children. Equipment specifically related to pain relief, safety, mobility and the communication needs of children. You can choose to further restrict funds made through this appeal to be spent only on children in a specific county of your choice. Appeal fundraising covers the whole of the UK so they can work with you to raise funds for specific area if you wish. The cost of revolutionary equipment can include, for mobility - a powered wheelchair at £3,000, safety support equipment at £2,500 , a pain relieving postural support bed at £5,000 and a communication aid at £1,500
Medical Research Fund
Funds all types of research relating to the understanding, prevention, treatment and care of disabled children.
Campaigning and Awareness fund
Funds activities which impact on individual children and families as well as campaigning on national issues and policies.

Volunteering as a fundraiser

We will do all we can to support you by providing sponsor forms and ideas and organizing tips. We also have regional fundraisers who can help in your area. Whether it’s a one-off activity or you can help us over a longer period we will appreciate your support.

In the Midlands we also have a volunteer opportunity centre where supporters can come to do activities such as managing stock for recycling or creating the Newlife crafts range to raise funds
