Everyone loves a lottery . . . and here's your opportunity to join in the fun at the same time as helping to support disabled and terminally ill children.
Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children is launching its lottery with a difference. For every £1 entry, 50 pence is donated to the charity. Players have a chance to win thousands of pounds each week - with a £25,000 jackpot.
The more people who play, the more money Newlife receives to directly fund specialist equipment for children with disabilities and terminal illness across the UK.
The draw takes place every Saturday and each entry is £1. If you match all six numbers you not only win £25,000 but Newlife will get a bonus £2,500. Five digits wins £1,000, four digits £25 and three digits matched gets £5. For further details and to sign up now click here.
Every day, Chester mum Nicole Luijenburg sees the difference specialist equipment can make. Newlife provided her four-year-old daughter Olivia, who has recently undergone major surgery, with a specialist car seat so she can travel pain-free as she recovers.
Olivia, from Chester, has abnormal flexed hip sockets and uses specialist footwear to walk. Nicole said: "Because of Olivia's hip dysplasia she needs to be comfortable. She was growing out of her rear facing car seat - it was quite narrow, putting pressure onto her hips. She needed a seat with enough room so that, after surgery, the healing process can take place without any added pressure. Getting the new car seat has definitely put our minds at ease."
She added: "By playing the Newlife Lottery you can support other children like Olivia so they can get the essential equipment they need for everyday life."
When the chair was delivered Laina was left alone to get accustomed to the chair. After some time of being very quiet, her grandad went to see if she was alright and he found she had raised herself up and was looking in all the wall cupboards in the kitchen as she had never been able to reach them before. The chair has given Laina increased independence. Allowed her to join her sister and friends in the kitchen to bake as she can now reach the higher surface heights. She will be allowed to take the chair into her new secondary school in September.
You are all amazing at Newlife. Having this bed means that Evie can now sleep in a bed rather than her pushchair. Also she is now tolerating feeds overnight which she didn't before. Evie wakes up a happy nourished rested young girl. We are also getting a better nights sleep knowing Evie is so comfortable and safe.
Thank you for my lovely new red car seat - I love travelling in it. Mummy and Daddy aren't worried anymore because I can't get out of it!
