BROWNLEE BROTHER ALISTAIR’S TOP TRIATHLON TIPS PAY OFF FOR FUNDRAISING TRIO

Top triathlon tips from Brownlee brother Alistair paid off for fundraising trio Neil Preston, Tom Sharp and Eoghan Given from Leeds when they took on the gruelling Sundowner Iron Man challenge last weekend.

All three, who are members of Leeds Bradford Triathlon Club, completed the challenge in less than six hours (Tom Sharp, 5:39; Neil Preston, 5:42; Eoghan Given 5:43) – swimming 1,900 metres, cycling 90 kilometres and running 21.2 kilometres. Between them they raised an amazing £750 for Newlife.

Neil, from Horsforth in Leeds, is Head of Trusts and Partnerships for Newlife.  He said: “On a recent training session I met two-time Olympic triathlon gold medallist Alistair Brownlee. He was very interested in how Newlife supports families, often in dire need, in Yorkshire and across the whole of the UK. He gave me a few tips and words of encouragement, which was quite inspirational – and the advice certainly paid off.”
