Charity book donation fires children’s imaginations

Cannock-based charity Newlife donates 250 books to Acorns Children’s Hospice in the Black Country. Life limited children who use Acorns Children’s Hospice in the Black Country, located in Walsall, are being thrilled by tales of Ballerina’s, Dinosaurs, Fairies, Superhero’s, and many others thanks to a donation of more than 250 books by Cannock-based Newlife1 – the UK’s leading charity for disabled children. The books have been donated to Acorns2 via the Newlife Superstore in Cannock which in addition to its children’s titles also has in stock a range of books for older children and adults – many of which are available for £1 or less. Books currently in stock include a number on subjects as diverse as Astronomy, Classic Cars, Great Inventions, Superbikes, and the top 100 best-selling albums. Delighted to be announcing the donation, Newlife’s Chief Executive, Sheila Brown, said: “This donation of books to Acorns Children’s Hospice gives life limited children and their siblings access to a wealth of stories to fire the imagination. Our Superstore in Cannock regularly receives a diverse variety of books and we are delighted to be able to make this contribution to the Hospice to benefit the life limited children they serve.” Head Nurse at the Acorns Children’s Hospice in the Black Country is Hilary Ball. Hilary said: “This is a very generous donation. The life limited children and young people will have a lot of pleasure from these books. They will be a valuable resource.”
