Could you help change the life of a local disabled child? Leading UK children’s disability charity Newlife Foundation is calling on enthusiastic runners to take part in the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon in March to raise money for specialist equipment for youngsters in their county.

Newlife Operations Manager Stephen Morgan said: “We are looking for dedicated people who really want to help make a difference. Equipment really does change lives. It can support children to kick a football, play with their friends, go to school, sleep safely . . . even enjoy a holiday for the first time.

“We are hoping that some of the most physically able people in our communities will sign up to support Newlife through the Adidas event so that local disabled children get an opportunity change their lives.”

The Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon in Northamptonshire takes place on Sunday 15 March, on the UK’s top Formula One racing circuit. To secure a place, go to www.newlifecharity.co.uk/adidas. Newlife guarantees that 100 per cent of the money donated or raised in a specified county will be used to fund specialist equipment for disabled and terminally ill children in that county. Not a penny is taken out for other costs.

Last year (2013/14), Newlife helped more than 1,300 children around the UK get the equipment they desperately needed, at a cost of £2,088,105. The number of grants was 33 per cent up on the previous 12 month period as more and more families find they cannot get the equipment they need through their local statutory services.
