Marriott Hotel Raises £3,028 For Local Disabled Child

Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children is proud to announce that the Marriot Forest of Arden in Meriden has raised £3,028 to pay for essential equipment for Birmingham child Jack Byrne. This is an amazing total from a combined effort of staff at the hotel. Newlife is the leading children’s disability charity that works to provide a range of services for children and their families with disabilities across the UK. The much-needed money raised by the hotel was through a combination of fundraising sales and donations. The money will go towards funding of £3,250 specialist padded bed for Birmingham child, Jack Byrne, to regain the independence he desperately requires. Jack, from Acocks Green, has a rare form of epilepsy called West Syndrome which he contracted in the first few months of life. This causes seizures and he is not able to speak. Chief Executive of Newlife Foundation, Mrs Sheila Brown, OBE says: “’This is a fantastic achievement and very encouraging to see the efforts of the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel in improving the lives of disabled children within the local community. We are very grateful to everyone involved, and would encourage other groups and individuals to keep fundraising to help other disabled children like Jack across the West Midlands area.” For further information on Newlife Foundation, or how to get involved, log onto www.newlifecharity.co.uk, or contact Newlife Fundraiser Axelle Parker on 01543 462 777 or 07973 786788.
