New premises for Newlife

A thriving retail business will be acquiring new premises after experiencing record growth and employing more part time staff after securing new contracts. Newlife Trading Limited, in Cannock is set to take over the former Maymies building, in Hemlock Way, Cannock. The company recycles and sells unwanted stock from more than 400 retailers and profits go to the Newlife Foundation, a leading national children’s charity that funds essential equipment and help for disabled children. Newlife CEO Mrs Sheila Brown OBE says: “The securing of new contracts and a projected increase of one million units of stock by the end of the financial year means we need more space. We decided to take on the property that was formerly known as Maymies in Cannock to accommodate this. This is just across the road and we are in negotiation for this site at present and hope to complete by the end of the month. We are one of the few organisations that has experienced this kind of growth in the region recently and we are proud that this success will lead to new jobs, which we are looking to urgently fill.” Newlife currently employs 256 staff and is believed to be one of the largest local employers in the area and today announces an increase of 24 positions for local people and looking for part-time computer.
