NEW STORE BRINGS NEW JOBS TO CANNOCK

Newlife is set to open its third store in Cannock, bringing up to 20 new jobs to the town. Newlife Market Place will open in Hemlock Way in early November and be the trading company’s clearance store, with bags of bargains for canny shoppers. Newlife Market Place is on the site of the former Jack Livesey Tiles outlet, two doors from the very successful Newlife at Home store and across the road from the Newlife Superstore. It will stock discounted furniture and other bulky goods, along with additional items. All profits from the group of Newlife stores – this latest opening will bring the number to five – go to Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children, to help provide a range of practical support services for families in need. Last year (2013/14), profits from the group raised £3.3million to support hundreds of children across the UK. Newlife Trading Ltd Managing Director Colin Brown says:  “We are working with an ever-increasing number of high street retailers and manufacturers in the UK and Europe who donate their unwanted goods. As a result we are expanding both our recycling/warehouse operation and retail business – and this in turn means we will have up to 20 job vacancies for various posts, including sales staff.” The building will also create a new expanded  ‘Opportunity Centre’ replacing the existing one on the main site, to allow local volunteers better facilities and more chances to help Newlife to help disabled children.

A dedicated preparation room will also  be included, to manage the charity’s’ Play Therapy Pod’ service, which loans out ‘pods’ of sensory equipment for children with complex needs.

In addition, the space will assist the charity in growing its latest service – called Newlifeable – which rescues pre-owned paediatric and young adult disability equipment, such as wheelchairs and specialist seating, and makes them available at low cost or via a grant.

Colin Brown added: “We are already a major employer in the Cannock area and our hard-working and dedicated team of trading company and charity staff plays a vital role in really changing the lives of disabled children across the UK. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from anyone who wants to help make a real difference.”
