Newlife for Uttoxeter

A unique new store will bring fashion at irresistible prices and new stock daily to local people in Uttoxeter. That’s the promise from Newlife, which aims to open the shop on Friday, 9 December.

The new store in Uttoxeter’s High Street, formerly a kitchen fitters, will offer a similar range of goods to Newlife’s current Superstore in Cannock: men’s and ladies’ wear, bags, footwear and accessories – all at discounted prices.

The goods are donated from major retailers and have had their labels removed to eliminate branding. The new store will create four new posts and redevelopment of the first floor could create more.

Colin Brown, Operations Director for Newlife Trading Ltd, says: “We are excited to open in Uttoxeter and to have found such a great store in a prime location. We have been speaking to people on the High Street and they say how much they will appreciate fashion at a great price, so that’s what we will bring. We hope to open in time for Christmas and we are taking applications for staff right now.”

Newlife is a unique and acclaimed social enterprise venture, with 18 years experience of success. Newlife offers secure recycling services to major retailers. As a result of this service, Newlife offers goods to the public for sale; these are mainly over-orders, customer returns and end of season stock. The wide range of fashions and sizes as well as the low prices are the big selling points, along with the fact that Newlife guarantees to release new stock to the sales floors every single day.

All profits raised from the Newlife enterprise are donated to Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children which funds equipment for disabled and terminally ill children, medical research and campaigning for a better deal for families. Last year the enterprise raised £2million.

Colin adds: “We are not a second hand charity shop, we are a company that passes our profit to a charity – that’s very different. We do not take used goods from individuals, we only deal with major brand companies and manufacturers, that again is very different and we are sure local people will enjoy our unique offer.”

The new store will help the charity raise the ever increasing amount of funding needed as the economic climate and cutbacks have forced hundreds more families across the UK to turn to Newlife for equipment and support.
