Could you sell tickets for our Christmas Grand Draw – and help spread a little festive cheer among the families of disabled and terminally ill children currently waiting for specialist equipment?
Tickets for the Newlife Christmas Grand Draw are £1 each – and there are some fabulous prizes to be won, with top prizes of £1,000 and a two-night stay at the five-star London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
You could help a family like the Seisuns, from Swansea. In desperation, they sent Newlife Foundation a Facebook message asking whether we could help provide a specialist bed for their son Gilbert, who wouldn’t sleep at night. For two years, 14-year-old Gilbert – who has delayed development, epilepsy and learning disabilities – had refused to sleep and his parents were exhausted. He needed a specialist high-sided, padded bed where he would feel safe – and Newlife delivered the equipment the following week.
Dad Silvio said: “The new bed is fantastic. Since the very first night after we got it, Gilbert has been sleeping. The second night he slept through and – for the first time in years – we all overslept and woke up around 9.30am. Knowing Gilbert is safe in his bed means we are all able to sleep soundly; this will make a huge difference to family life.”
Newlife is currently working with more than 150 families of disabled and terminally ill children, who all urgently need specialist equipment ranging from wheelchairs and walking aids to beds and buggies. The proceeds of the sale of Grand Draw tickets will fund equipment for children around the UK.
