The exclusive Chase Golf, Health Club & Spa on Cannock Chase is opening its doors to the public for the first time in aid of charity. All money raised will be split between Cannock-based charity for disabled children, Newlife, and Cannock Lions who do good work in the local community.
The Open Day will take place on Saturday, 15 October, 10am to 6pm, when a wide range of activities will be on offer – from exercise classes and golf lessons to make-up demonstrations. Visitors can take part in any of the activities for a small charitable donation.
Alison McCombe, Membership Manager at the Club, said: “We are normally only open to members so this is an opportunity for everyone to use our facilities whilst helping support local charities at the same time. It should be a really fun day that we are all looking forward to – well maybe not the guys from our fitness team who are getting their chests waxed to raise money!”
A zumba party will run between 10.30am and midday for a £4 donation. For those more interested in golf, various classes and challenges will be offered from 10am including a free golf class for beginners. Elsewhere, there will taster sessions of other activities including belly dancing, body pumping, body combat, cycling and pilates. Finally, visitors will be able to visit the new health club and spa for make-up and skincare demonstrations and The Chase Personal Trainers will be on hand to advise on diet and exercise.
Nora Smith, Fundraising Manager for Newlife, said: “This is a fabulous opportunity for a great day out and we are very grateful to the Club for holding this Open Day. People can take part in as much or as little as they want, so long as they make a small donation which will be a lot less than they would normally pay for these experiences. We can guarantee that 100 per cent of all monies raised for Newlife will go towards helping local disabled and terminally ill children get the equipment they desperately need.”
