THE SWAN SWOOPS IN TO HELP DISABLED CHILDREN IN STAFFORDSHIRE

A pub in Stone pulled out all the stops to raise an amazing £1,748 to help children with disabilities and terminal illness in Staffordshire.

The Swan Inn’s annual charity buffet and auction will help at least one local child get the vital equipment they urgently need for everyday life.

The Swan’s Alexandra Hemmings, who organised the event, said: “All for a great cause! Our 16th annual charity Christmas Buffet and Auction managed to raise a significant amount for county-based charity Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children and we had loads of fun doing it! Thanks to all the local shops, businesses, pub staff and customers for their kind donations and continued support.

“It was a wonderful day and we are so delighted that the funds raised will benefit disabled and terminally ill children within our local area.”

Newlife Regional Fundraising and Awareness Manager Keleigh Tomlinson added: “The auction was a huge success and the team at the Swan Inn were a pleasure to work with. We are always extremely grateful when we receive the support of local businesses and if anyone else is interested in hosting an event to raise much needed funds to help the families supported by Newlife Foundation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me on 07973 473 268. One hundred per cent of donations and fundraising in Staffordshire is used to provide specialist equipment for children in need in the county. Together we can make a difference.”
