A huge thank you to all our Newlife volunteers!

National Volunteers Week runs from June 2 – 8 this year and is the perfect moment for us to shine a spotlight on and say a massive thank you to the incredible individuals who give their time and energy to support our mission at Newlife and help to make a difference to the lives of children with disabilities and their families.

Lindsay Etheridge, Newlife’s Volunteer Manager, said: “At the core of our mission is a network of volunteers who make our work possible – people who believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive.”

The impact of volunteering

At Newlife, our volunteers are an essential part of the team. From helping in retail stores, processing stock in our Opportunity Centre, to assisting with fundraising events or lending a hand in the office, every task plays a crucial role in helping children and families in need.

More than this, volunteering at Newlife is not only impactful – it’s rewarding too, with our volunteers gaining:

  • A sense of purpose and fulfilment
  • New skills and experience
  • Lifelong friendships and community connections
  • The joy of knowing they’ve helped change a child’s life
