1K FAMILY FUN RUN ON CANNOCK CHASE

Mash Running is calling on families to take part in its 1K ‘Fun Run’ on Saturday, May 7, on Cannock Chase. All proceeds generated from the fun run will be donated to Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children – the UK’s largest charitable provider of essential equipment to meet the specialist needs of children with disabilities and terminal illness.

The 1K ‘Fun Run’ is part of the organisation’s sold out Cannock Chase Half Marathon – giving families an opportunity to join in the fun over the same terrain as the main race.

Mash Running is urging families to show up and have an amazing time while raising funds for Newlife Foundation. Mark Mundy, Race Organiser at Mash Running, said: “We want all families who take part to have as much fun as possible so fancy dress is optional. We’re expecting to see lots of little Minions and Elsas ready to run for a good cause. It’s over the same uphill terrain as the main race so although everyone is welcome – however, we would advise against pushchairs.”

There will be medals for all participants and a prize for the first child to complete the course. With only 100 places, the ‘Fun Run’ is not to be missed – what makes it even better is that there is no fuss of entering online, just show up on the day pay, (£5) each and get ready for the off!

The race will start at Milford Common, Cannock Chase Forest, Brocton Road, Stafford, ST17 0UH – more ‘Fun Run’ details can be found on the website: www.cannockchasehalf.co.uk

The Newlife Community Fundraising Team can be contacted on freephone 0800 988 4640 or emailfundraise@newlifecharity.co.uk. Newlife guarantees that 100 per cent of monies raised in the West Midlands will be used to provide specialist equipment for children in the county.
