BARCLAYS VOLUNTEERS GET THEIR HANDS DIRTY

Twenty members of the Barclays Management Team, volunteered their time to transform the woodland area at the Birches Specialist School in Didsbury, which has been supporting Newlife with fundraising events and raising awareness.

The Barclays Management Team, from Manchester and Cheshire, wanted to combine their monthly meeting with a hands-on/community volunteering event to continue their support and to make a difference to children who Newlife also help in the region. As a result, the team spent the afternoon transforming a very overgrown large woodland area into an amazing outdoor experience with learning activities for the children to use, with access for wheelchair users to explore and experience this lovely area.

Regional Fundraising & Awareness Manager Claire Kelly, said: “The school were absolutely delighted and the support from Barclays yet again was fantastic. This is a great example of working together collaboratively to make a difference and changing children’s lives – it’s volunteering at its very best!”
